This is the moment two supercars were set ablaze and petrol bombs were thrown at guests in a terrifying attack outside a wedding venue.

Footage shared on social media shows partygoers fleeing the Royal Shalimar banqueting hall in Birmingham last night after it was targeted by five missiles.

Two supercars, believed to be a Lamborghini and a McLaren, were set alight with flames and thick plumes of smoke seen billowing from the vehicles.

Three suspects, dressed all in black, were reportedly captured on CCTV outside the venue before the attack.

One is understood to have set three missiles alight, before lobbing them towards the building.

In the footage, seen by Birmingham Live, one member of the group then proceeds to cross the road and throw two more lit petrol bombs at the supercars.

The missiles are understood to have narrowly missed young partygoers and a baby stood outside the venue.

One of the missiles struck the front of the building, which had hundreds of people inside.

Venue staff are said to have raced to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher, before fire crews and police arrived.

Witness Fahim Kayani, who was dining inside the building at the time of the attack, said: 'I was inside enjoying my meal when this very serious incident took place.

'I was aware of a disturbance outside.

'The restaurant staff responded very quickly and put the flames out using fire extinguishers before the emergency services arrived.'

He said a number of people, including a young child, were standing close to where the cars were firebombed.

Mr Kayani, who is president of the all party international Kashmir co-ordination committee, said one person kicked a missile away before it could roll under one of the cars.

The Daily Mail has approached West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service for comment.
