‘Absolute Nonsense’ – Warren Dismisses Fury Injury Rumours Ahead Of Joshua Showdown

Translate

Boxing promoter Frank Warren has emphatically dismissed rumors suggesting Tyson Fury has suffered an injury that could derail his upcoming heavyweight clash against Anthony Joshua, branding the claims “absolute nonsense.”

Speculation began after former heavyweight champion Frank Bruno suggested on the Fight Your Corner podcast that he had heard whispers of a potential injury in Fury’s camp.

Addressing the claims during the press conference for the Joshua Buatsi vs. Willy Hutchinson rematch, Warren made it clear there is no truth to the rumors surrounding the “Gypsy King.”

“Nonsense, nonsense, absolute nonsense,” Warren told The Sun. “He’s doing well.”

While acknowledging he hasn’t spoken to Fury in a week to let the fighter focus on camp, Warren expressed total confidence in his fighter’s readiness for the December 11 bout at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

“I’ll leave him alone, leave him in peace,” Warren added. “The last time I spoke to him, he just said, ‘I wish the fight were tomorrow.’ He’s so up for it, he’s so focused, and he wants it so badly.”

Warren also brushed off suggestions that Deontay Wilder’s inclusion on the undercard, facing former cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia, would distract Fury, insisting the former rival’s presence “won’t affect Tyson whatsoever.”
