A 15-year-old student of Ada Senior High Technical School (ASTECH), Monde Konedu Agyemang, has died after reportedly collapsing during a sporting activity organised as part of the school’s Girls’ Education Week celebration.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 15, 2026, which was also her 15th birthday.

Monde was rushed to the Sege Polyclinic but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Ada West District Director of Education, Dr Stephen Arthur, said the cause of death was yet to be established, adding that arrangements were being made for an autopsy to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

He disclosed that the student had enrolled at the school about three weeks before her death and had no known medical condition declared on her admission form.

Her body has since been transferred to the General Hospital as police investigate the incident.

The autopsy is expected to help establish the cause of death.
