Hot weather returns across Egypt on Saturday

Translate

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts hot, humid daytime weather for Saturday across the north of the country—extending to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt— with intensely hot conditions in southern Upper Egypt.

Temperatures will tend to be moderate during the night and early morning hours.

Wind activity is anticipated across most regions, with speeds ranging from 30-34 km/h; this will help moderate the weather in open areas during the evening, though winds may stir up sand and dust intermittently in parts of Halayeb, Shalateen, and the New Valley.

Winds will be particularly active along the Mediterranean coast—specifically in Matrouh, el-Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, and Port Said—causing wave heights to reach between 1.5 and two meters – sea conditions will be moderate with northwesterly winds.

Conditions in the Red Sea will be moderate, with wave heights ranging from 1.5 to 2.25 meters and winds blowing from the northwest to the northeast, while the Gulf of Suez will range from moderate to rough, with wave heights of two to three meters and northwesterly winds.

Expected temperatures for Saturday:

  • Matrouh: 29C
  • Alexandria: 31C
  • Cairo: 34C
  • Hurghada, and Sharm El-Sheikh: 38C
  • Luxor and Aswan: 42C
