Portuguese giants FC Porto have announced the signing of Nigerian forward Abraham Obasi on a deal that will see him join their U19 team, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Obasi will join a long list of Nigerian players who have represented the Portuguese side at youth levels, and will be aiming to have better success than the rest who fail in their quest to join Nigeria international left back Zaidu Sanusi in the club’s main team.

After signing a contract with the FC Porto team, Obasi spoke with the club’s official media channel on the move: “I’m very happy to be part of this team. It’s a dream come true. I can’t wait to start playing and to give my best on the field. I will give everything to ensure that we all evolve.”

“I feel very good. My teammates are good people and we have a great relationship. Everything is going well. These are just my first days, but over time I will end up getting to know them better, get along with them and make sure I deserve everyone’s affection and respect,” said the new striker of FC Porto.

He is coming directly from academy football in Nigeria where he went through the training ranks of Wonder Land FC, One Touch FC and Adoration FC, Nigeria.
