LUCENA CITY — Two suspected drug pushers were arrested in separate operations in Quezon province on Monday, police said.

Authorities seized suspected shabu (crystal meth) valued at more than P360,000 and two unlicensed firearms.

Col. Romulo Albacea, Quezon police chief, in a report, said operatives of the Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, armed with a search warrant, raided the house of a 56-year-old resort caretaker who is allegedly a high-value target in Barangay Poblacion Uno at Real town at around 6:30 p.m.

Police said the suspect was allegedly caught with eight heat-sealed plastic bags and two heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 52.3 grams. Based on the Dangerous Drugs Board valuation of P6,800 per gram, the seized drugs were estimated at P355,640. 

In Catanauan town, anti-narcotics operatives with a search warrant swooped down at 12:16 p.m. on the house of a 36-year-old alleged street pusher in Barangay Tagbacan Ibaba.

The authorities found a caliber .45 pistol with three bullets, an M16 rifle, three magazines for the M16 rifle, 88 pieces of live ammunition, and P4,624 worth of suspected shabu.

The two suspects are currently detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The suspect in Catanauan will also face a separate charge for illegal possession of firearms./coa
