Melaka polls: Azman first to arrive at Paya Rumput nomination centre

Translate

MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Paya Rumput seat Datuk Azman Abidin was the first candidate to arrive at the nomination centre today, reaching Hang Jebat Stadium about 8.40am.

Azman, who is the political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, arrived ahead of the nomination process for the Paya Rumput seat in the 16th Melaka election.

He is among the candidates contesting the constituency, with Pas expected to field Rafiah Mat and Bersama naming Abdul Rashid Abu Bakar.

More than 200 PH supporters turn up for Azman as early as 7.30am

The supporters were accompanied by PH election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, who was present at Hang Jebat Stadium here, to lend his support to Azman as the coalition stepped up its campaign efforts in the constituency.

Azman previously stated his decision to contest in Melaka to be driven by a desire to contribute to the state, which was linked to his family's roots.

Although he had never contested in an election before, he viewed the opportunity as a chance to serve the state.
