2027: PDP’s Oluyede, Oyebanji unite for Tinubu landslide in Ekiti

The Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the June 20 Ekiti State governorship election, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, has reiterated his commitment to partnering with Governor Biodun Oyebanji to secure a landslide victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Oluyede, who is the convener of the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda, said continuity was necessary for Tinubu to continue his “good works.”

The PDP chieftain, according to a statement made available in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, spoke at his hometown, Ikere Ekiti, on Friday while playing host to Oyebanji, who paid him a courtesy visit.

He hailed the governor for his efforts towards building a greater Ekiti State, describing him as “a fantastic gentleman, kind, generous.”

He said, “He is working hard for a greater and more prosperous Ekiti. I commended him about three days ago. He is working hard on security in the state, and his investment in infrastructure is commendable.

“Apart from that, our meeting today is to secure the state further. We want to have free, fair and credible general elections. We are also working together to deliver a landslide victory for the President, who is doing a fantastic job. The governor is also doing a fantastic job in Ekiti.”

Oluyede said Oyebanji’s efforts towards advancing the state deserved commendation, particularly in the areas of security, infrastructure and human capital development.

He attributed the peace and security being enjoyed across Ekiti State to the governor’s sustained commitment and investment in the security sector.

He said, “Myself and Governor Oyebanji have been friends for a long time. We were in the same party, we diverged but we stuck together.”

Oyebanji, in his remarks, hailed the PDP chieftain for his interest in the progress and advancement of the state, saying their collaboration was driven by a shared interest in achieving sustainable development and improving the wellbeing of Ekiti residents.

The governor stressed that their shared commitment to the development of the state remained the driving force behind their engagement, thanking Oluyede for his “good spirit” and commitment to the development of Ekiti State.

He disclosed that whenever he and Oluyede met, their discussions were always centred on the progress and advancement of the state.

Oyebanji said their desire to find lasting solutions to the challenges confronting the state was another factor that had bonded them together.

The governor described Oluyede as one of the most committed Ekiti indigenes he had met.

“And I must thank him for his generosity of spirit, for his commitment to the development of Ekiti State.

“Anytime I see Dr Oluyede, he is always talking about the development of the state, and that is what binds us together: the spirit of developing the state, finding solutions to all the problems and working together in maintaining peace in the state.

“And I am sure in the next few days, Ekiti people will see the result of our collaboration,” the governor said.
