Coronation Street first look at turning point in Kit Green's cancer story

Coronation Street has shared a first look at what's in store for Kit Green next week as he reaches a turning point with his cancer diagnosis. Kit was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer last month and has so far kept his diagnosis from his colleagues.
Last week, Kit confided in mum Bernie Winter-Alahan and the rest of his family about his diagnosis, but with his chemotherapy approaching, Kit knows he'll soon have to tell his work colleagues.

At work, DS Lisa Connor-Swain has noticed Kit's been acting uncharacteristically, including having aggressive outbursts. But with Kit not letting his colleagues in, they've put his unusual behaviour down to Sarah Platt's imprisonment.
In a scene to air next week, a nurse fills a desolate Kit in on his chemo plan, reckoning he’ll probably be feeling too ill to work during treatment.
Kit cancels multiple phone calls as the nurse tentatively suggests that he should tell his workplace about his cancer, a conversation Kit dreads.
Further spoilers from next week have revealed that Kit will have a hard time sharing his diagnosis.
Our Corrie insider said: "For a man who prefers keeping his emotions hidden, getting his head around a life-threatening illness is massively challenging for Kit.

"He's used to getting results by using his intellect, but he can't treat breast cancer like a case that can be easily closed. Now his family knows, it's time he told his employers – but Kit is worried about the impact this will have on his career…"
Kit will then decide to tell Lisa after she's forced to deal with a shooting alone. "Kit genuinely feels guilty about letting everyone down," our spy added.
"This is just such unknown territory for him. He gets to the station to find Lisa filing her report on the incident she was called to deal with – and she's not happy to see him! At last, Kit bites the bullet and tells her everything."
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
