Minter makes it official, says rookie QB Fagnano will start for Ravens vs. Jags
Baltimore Ravens rookie quarterback Joe Fagnano will start Thursday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, coach Jesse Minter announced Tuesday.
On Monday, Minter was not definitive on who would be the starter, only saying that Fagnano, who has an ankle injury, had a "chance" to play.
Fagnano was spotted at practice Thursday wearing a brace on his injured ankle.
He will become the second undrafted rookie quarterback to start for the Ravens in their 32-year history.
With Lamar Jackson headed to injured reserve with a right thumb injury that requires surgery and Tyler Huntley also ruled out for Thursday night's game with a toe injury, the Ravens signed quarterback Kedon Slovis off the Green Bay Packers' practice squad to back up Fagnano.
The Ravens also added quarterback Austin Reed to their practice squad Monday.
