UAE gives all-clear after air defenses detect incoming missile threat from Iran

Translate

The UAE's defense ministry said its air defense systems detected a missile threat on Tuesday, according to a post by the ministry on X/Twitter.

The ministry said, "If any sounds are heard, they are the result of air defense interceptions."

The UAE's interior ministry later sent a phone alert, saying that the situation was currently safe and to resume normal activities.

This comes amid tensions with Iran as the Memorandum of Understanding expired, with US President Donald Trump laying claim to the Strait of Hormuz with a declaration marking it as "US territory."

Later on Tuesday, Trump said that there are "no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran."

"The Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect. The Hormuz Strait is open and operating. All water mines have been removed or detonated," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
