Formula One Driver’s Championship leader Kimi Antonelli has extended his lead by winning the Spanish Grand Prix 2026 at the newly opened Madring in Madrid on September 13, Sunday, following which Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen and McLaren’s Lando Norris crossed the finish line to take second and third respectively.

This victory comes consecutively after his previous Grand Prix at Monza, where Kimi Antonelli had a stellar race, racing from P19 to claim a resounding win at his home race bringing his total race wins count upto eight.

The sole Ferrari of Charles Leclerc finished fourth, followed by Antonelli’s teammate George Russell locking in fifth for Mercedes. Liam Lawson took sixth for Red Bull Racing, Franco Colapinto took seventh for Alpine, Oscar Piastri finished eight for McLaren and Arvid Lindblad from the Racing Bulls finished ninth and Audi’s Nico Hulkenberg completed the top 10.

The second Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton had to retire from the race after a brake failure in his car, resulting in his first DNF of the season.
