The AFC Champions League Elite matchup of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and UAE’s Al Wasl, scheduled to be played in Riyadh on Monday, has now been postponed.

The Asian Football Confederation have not given a reason or a new date for the race. The team from UAE has not reached Saudi yet as planned previously.

With the clashes between the Saudi-led coalition and Iran-aligned Houthi forces in Yemen intensifying recently, teams have been travelling to matches by road instead of taking flights as the airports have been targeted.

Just this month, three Saudi Pro League matches have been postponed for ‘logistical reasons’. This trend could be set to continue.
