Apple Music to Host Its First Ever Video Livestream From Dance Festival Head Trip

Apple Music will present its first-ever video livestream on Oct. 10-11 from the SoCal dance festival Head Trip. This livestream will be free to watch and will not require a subscription.

Presented by Goldenvoice, Head Trip is a one-time only festival happening on the Coachella grounds in Indio, Calif. with a lineup including Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex, Four Tet, Peggy Gou, Dom Dolla, Kettama, Chris Lake, Fisher, The Blessed Madonna, DJ Harvey and Ben Sterling. Apple Music will livestream sets from the main stage during both days of the festival. The livestream schedule will be released at a later date.

Apple Music’s first presenting livestream festival partnership marks a significant advancement for the platform’s livestreaming capabilities, leveling up Club Live, which launched this past May at EDC Las Vegas and broadcasts festivals and club shows live via the streaming radio station Apple Music Club. Upon this launch, Apple Music’s global head of dance, electronic music and DJ mixes Stephen Campbell told Billboard that Club Live “is free; it’s in front of the paywall. Anyone can listen to it, and that’s a wonderful thing. We want as many people around the world as possible to experience the magic [of these events.]”

Head Trip follows Goldenvoice’s previous one-time-only festivals on the Coachella grounds, 2016’s Desert Trip and 2023’s Power Trip. The first fest focused on classic rock with a lineup including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones and the second focused on classic metal with Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Tool and Metallica.

Head Trip will feature a main stage designed by Romain Pissenem and his company High Scream, the team behind Ibiza’s clubs [UNVRS] and Hï. In addition to Head Trip’s main stage, the festival will also feature the U.S. debut of Floating Points’ Sunflower Sound System, a stage that will run for the duration of the fest and feature performances from Avalon Emerson, Ben UFO, Eris Drew and Octo Octa, Floating Points, Four Tet, Mad Professor, Theo Parrish and Zach Cowie.
