President of the Union of African Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Professions (UACCIAP) Ahmed al-Wakil stated that the union’s 2027 action plan aims to transition from initiatives to measurable economic results, boosting trade and investments among the continent’s private sector.

al-Wakil made the remarks during the union’s board meeting which he presided and was attended by Investment and Trade Minister Mohamed Farid and African chambers representatives, alongside Egyptian General Federation of Chambers of Commerce members. al-Wakil emphasized the private sector’s pivotal role in turning integration opportunities into actual trade.

Union Secretary General Alaa Ezz reviewed the 2027 plan targeting economic integration, intra-African trade growth, foreign investment attraction, digital transformation, and small and medium enterprise empowerment, supporting African Continental Free Trade Area frameworks and removing trade barriers.
