China Eastern upgrades app as Malaysia-China travel demand grows

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: China Eastern Airlines has upgraded its international mobile app, potentially giving travellers a more streamlined digital experience when booking and managing flights to China and other international destinations.

The airline said version 2.0 of its international app is now available on the App Store and Google Play, with upgrades focused on flight booking, seat selection, itinerary management and access to real-time flight information.

For Malaysian travellers, the enhanced platform comes as China remains an important destination for tourism and business travel, with China Eastern operating international services linking Malaysia with China and its wider network.

In a statement, the airline said the upgraded flight search and booking function has been redesigned to simplify the process of searching, selecting and purchasing flights.

For long-haul international services, the new seat-selection feature provides clearer cabin layouts, seat pitch and seat availability, allowing passengers to compare seating options before completing their booking.

The airline has also introduced a redesigned Trip Hub that automatically consolidates upcoming and past journeys, enabling passengers to manage their travel itineraries from a single platform.

Key flight information, including departure and arrival times, delay notifications, terminals and boarding gates, is also displayed more prominently for faster access.

China Eastern said it would continue expanding its digital travel services and introduce more international and locally preferred payment options, as it seeks to improve the experience for travellers across its global network.

For Malaysian passengers, the planned expansion of localised payment options could further simplify flight bookings and other travel transactions through the airline's digital platform.
