Suryansh Shedge is part of the India A squad for the Australia A ODIs.

Suryansh Shedge has replaced Hardik Pandya in the India A squad for the three-match one-day series against Australia A, Sportstar understands.

Hardik, who had been named in the squad subject to fitness clearance, has been ruled out of the series after suffering a fresh injury. The one-dayers begin on October 6 in Puducherry.

The series was expected to be an important test of Hardik’s fitness, particularly his ability to bowl 10 overs in a 50-over game, ahead of India’s five-match ODI tour of New Zealand starting November 4.

Hardik has not played an ODI since the Champions Trophy final in March last year. His fitness has remained a concern as India builds towards the 2027 ODI World Cup, with the all-rounder having had limited opportunities to prove his availability for the 50-over format.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand spinner Anukul Roy has also been drafted in to replace Naman Dhir, who has taken Washington Sundar’s place in India’s squad for the West Indies T20Is.
