The management of Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia has reiterated its fierce commitment to securing continental qualification and mounting a serious title challenge in the 2026–2027 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News in Lafia, the club’s Director of Communications and Media Publicity, Eche Amos, outlined the management’s ambitious vision to banish past setbacks and elevate the “Solid Miners” to the summit of Nigerian football.

Amos heaped praise on Governor Abdullahi Sule for his unwavering backing of the team, noting that consistent financial, moral, and administrative support, paired with a shrewd summer recruitment drive—has transformed the squad’s competitive edge.

Reflecting on the team’s start to the campaign, Amos admitted that while early away results have proved challenging, the underlying performances suggest a squad ready to turn the corner.

“Things are changing for the better. I wish to let you know that Nasarawa United, out of eight games, we lost all our games away, we drew only one, but at home, we could draw a couple of games, we won some, but it does not mean we cannot win away from home,” Amos said.

“We have what it takes, even the games we lost away, if we check the statistics, we did better in terms of ball possession, in terms of the charisma, the character, and the characteristics of the team.”

Under the leadership of club chairman Mr. Solomon Babanja, the management is executing a high-level strategic roadmap designed to build upon last season’s sixth-place finish, where the Solid Miners narrowly missed out on a continental spot by just four points after amassing 56 points.

Emphasizing a fortress mentality at home while targeting vital points on the road, Amos added:

“We ensure that we capitalize on our home advantage to win all our home matches and also pick draws where we needed to and we pray to win all our away matches.”

In closing, the media director issued a passionate rallying cry to the club’s fan base, sports enthusiasts, and citizens of Nasarawa State, urging them to throw their maximum weight behind the team as they navigate a fiercely competitive NPFL campaign.
