'It's a Medical Miracle' box office collection day 2_ Sangeeth Prathap film sees 21

Sangeeth Prathap and Sharafudheen's 'It's a Medical Miracle' recorded a drop in its box office collection on Saturday. The Malayalam movie earned Rs 43 lakhs in India on Day 2. According to Sacnilk, the film registered the collection from 654 shows.

The latest numbers have taken the movie's total India net collection to Rs 98 lakhs. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 1.15 cr. The film had opened with Rs 55 lakhs net on September 18.The second-day collection marks a 21.8% decline from the opening day's earnings. The movie also saw its overall occupancy fall from 22.0% on Friday to 18.0% on Saturday.

The movie recorded 654 shows across the country on its second day. The film had registered Rs 0.55 cr net from 695 shows on Friday. Its opening-day occupancy stood at 22.0%.With the second-day earnings added to its opening collection, 'It's a Medical Miracle' has reached Rs 98 lakhs in India net collections. The movie's India gross total has climbed to Rs 1.15 cr.

Saturday occupancy stands at 18%

The Malayalam 2D version of 'It's a Medical Miracle' recorded 19.43% overall occupancy based on its show timings on Saturday.

The morning shows registered 9.58% occupancy. The afternoon shows recorded 17.08%. The evening shows had 15.83% occupancy, while the night shows registered the highest figure at 30.42%.The overall occupancy was 22.0% on the opening day. The second day therefore brought a decline in both occupancy and net earnings.

'It's a Medical Miracle' follows a mysterious journey

The movie follows a young man who is declared brain-dead but unexpectedly regains consciousness.

Despite his condition, he can hear everything happening around him. He then begins searching for the nurse whose voice helped keep him alive. His journey soon takes him into a disturbing world filled with masks, memories and revenge. Every sound becomes potentially important in his search. What appears to be a clue could also turn out to be a trap.

ETimes gave 'It's a Medical Miracle' 2.5 stars out of 5. The review praised Sangeeth Prathap's effort while pointing to limitations in the writing of his character, Ruben."Sangeeth works hard to bring out the layers in Ruben, and there are glimpses of a more complicated character in his performance. But the writing doesn't give those complexities enough room to develop, leaving Ruben ultimately shallow on the page. The problem, then, lies less with what Sangeeth does with the character and more with how Ruben was conceived and written.Sharafudheen is fine as Suraj, but there isn't much for him to work with. Apart from his ‘quirk’ and motivation, Suraj isn't an especially memorable character. The basic idea has a lot of merit, but the execution — and the way his character is left hanging, with little to prop him up, much like Ruben — doesn't help.
