RuneScape: Dragonwilds announces new skills and regions in full year of content updates

Translate

New skills, races and an iconic questline have all been confirmed as part of RuneScape: Dragonwilds's next year of content.

Dragonwilds, which fully released last month, represents RuneScape's first foray into the survival genre.

And while the game already made tremendous strides during its early access development, developer Jagex has no intention of slowing down.

During a keynote speech at this year's RuneFest event at Birmingham's NEC, the Dragonwilds team took to the stage to unveil a vast swathe of content coming to the game running from the end of this year right through 2027.

Several new areas and races are set to be added, with each providing their own questslines, with both Elves and Vampyres coming to Ashenfall.

Alongside all this, a collection of new weapons and armour will be added to the game, with iconic Crystal weaponry, the Dark Bow and Inandis Flail all included.

The Prayer skill, which had initially been slated to release alongside the 1.0 update, is finally coming to the game, seemingly tying in with the Construction skill to allow players to build Altars in their houses.

Joining Prayer are the Hunter and Slayer skills, introducing further familiar RuneScape mechanics such as catching Implings, with two further unannounced skills joining them later in the year.

Jagex is also partnering with Curseforge to introduce modding to the game, giving players even further control over the way they enjoy the game.

Monthly updates will regularly add new content to the game to keep things fresh while players wait for the larger, quarterly updates scheduled to drop throughout the year.

Dragonwilds has had a reasonably successful launch, and while it may not have hit the heights its potential warrants due to Valheim releasing at a similar time, Jagex will be buoyed by the strong reception it has had thus far.

Fingers crossed that this word of mouth continues to translate into sales.
