Adly in 4-cornered fight for third term in Bukit Katil

Translate

Pakatan Harapan’s Adly Zahari is in a four-cornered contest to defend the Bukit Katil seat in the Nov 14 Melaka state election.

The former Melaka chief minister will be challenged by Perikatan Nasional’s Ridzuan Sarif, Bersama’s Aliza Che Amran and independent candidate Abu Bakar Sabudin.

Adly, who is Melaka PH chairman, is seeking to retain the seat he first won in 2018.

In the November 2021 state election, he defeated Barisan Nasional’s Hasnoor Sidang Husin by a majority of 1,057 votes.

Bukit Katil is a Malay-majority seat, with Malays making up approximately 65% of registered voters, followed by Chinese (29%), Indians (5%) and other ethnic groups (1%).

The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day, with early voting taking place on Nov 10.
