Hot, humid weather expected for Egypt on Monday

Translate

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts hot, humid weather during the day on Monday across the north of the country, extending to Greater Cairo, while conditions will be intensely hot in South Sinai and the south of the country.

The felt temperature is expected to soar to 46C in the south during daylight hours.

Temperatures will be moderate at night and during the early morning across most regions.

Weather maps indicate a likelihood of low-level clouds forming over scattered areas of the North Coast, Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the Suez Canal cities; these may be accompanied by light, inconsequential drizzle in some locations.

There is also a chance of very light rain—occurring intermittently—in parts of Halayeb and Shalateen, as well as areas south of Aswan.

Satellite data indicated intermittent wind activity across Greater Cairo, the Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, Upper Egypt, South Sinai, and the Red Sea Governorate; these winds may help moderate temperatures in some areas during the evening.

The EMA warned of the potential impacts associated with the expected weather conditions, urging citizens to monitor its latest updates and take necessary precautions and preparations.

Expected temperatures for Monday:

  • Greater Cairo: 35C (Felt 37C).
  • Northwestern Coasts: 31C (Felt 34C).
  • Northeastern Coasts: 32C (Felt 36C).
  • Lower Egypt: 34C (Felt 36C).
  • Northern Upper Egypt: 38C (Felt 40C).
  • Southern Upper Egypt: 45C (Felt 46C).
