Wicked's brand new commemorative coin is a joy - and you can buy it now

While the movies have set the box office by storm in recent years, there's one landmark occasion for Wicked in 2026, and that's the 20th anniversary of the West End show.

To mark two decades since the show arrived at the Apollo Theatre, Royal Mint has unveiled a series of commemorative coins in honour of the musical.

The 50p coin is jam-packed with images and symbols representing the show. Around the edges are Glinda's wand and shoes, the Grimmerie spellbook, a flying monkey and the Wizard of Oz in his hot air balloon. At the centre, true to form, is a broomstick and hat.

The uncirculated original and colour coins are available at £15 and £27.50 respectively, with the latter featuring select images in the distinctive pink, green and black colours the movie is known for.

Feeling flush? You can also order the Silver Proof Colour Coin for £92.50, while the Gold Proof Coin will set you back a cool £2,420.

Watch out, though, because these coins aren't 'for good': the Gold Proof and Silver Proof editions have a limited run.

It's not the only franchise celebrating an anniversary with its own commemorative coin. Winnie the Pooh's centenary is marked with a beautiful selection of coins, as is Aardman's 50th anniversary.

To mark the 20th anniversary, ATG Tickets has a 20% discount on tickets for 2026 performances when booked by 30 September (terms and conditions apply).
