UCL winner tells Juventus to sign Osimhen

Victor Osimhen has been suggested as a potential signing for Juventus as the Italian giants seek a top-class striker, with former Italy international Marco Borriello praising the Nigerian’s physical strength and experience in Serie A, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

“I want a great number nine. Osimhen? Maybe. He’s strong, he knows Serie A and Spalletti. But beyond Osimhen, we need a top-level striker,” Borriello, who won the UEFA Champions League in 2007, told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Osimhen previously played for Napoli, scoring 76 goals and providing 18 assists in 133 appearances across all competitions during his time at the club.

The Super Eagles striker played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph in the 2022/23 season, helping them win the Italian league title for the first time in 33 years.

His previous experience in Italian football could make him an attractive candidate for Juventus, particularly given his familiarity with Luciano Spalletti, who coached him at Napoli.

Osimhen has continued to deliver for Galatasaray this season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in nine appearances.

However, a potential return to Italy could be complicated by a reported clause in the agreement that took him from Napoli to Galatasaray.

The clause reportedly requires Galatasaray to pay Napoli a penalty fee if they sell the striker to a Serie A club before the summer transfer window closes in 2027, potentially increasing the cost of any move by Juventus.
