Army officer held with firearm, bullets after positive ketum test

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Army has confirmed the arrest of an officer who tested positive for ketum on Monday.
The army said the officer was arrested at a public university with a firearm, bullets and a liquid believed to be an illegal substance in his possession.
"The officer is in police custody to assist in investigations," the army said in a statement, adding that the officer's urine sample is pending laboratory analysis.
The army said it carried out an inspection of its armouries after being informed of the officer's arrest.
The audit confirmed that all weapons and ammunition were fully accounted for, with nothing missing from the inventory.
It said it would continue to cooperate with police and take the necessary action once the investigation findings have been confirmed.
