White House chief of staff Susie Wiles says she’s cancer-free

White House chief of staff Susie Wiles announced Wednesday that she is now cancer-free after being diagnosed with breast cancer in March.

“After a medical appointment at the Mayo Clinic this week, my pathology results came back clear. I am cancer free,” she wrote in a post on X.

Wiles, 69, who has served as President Donald Trump’s White House chief of staff since the beginning of his second term, thanked him for his “unwavering support.” She added that she’s “deeply grateful and will continue to work to advance his America First Agenda.”

She first announced in mid-March that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, which had been caught in the early stages, and that she’d received a “strong prognosis.”

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the U.S. and is the second-leading cause of death from cancer among women, with lung cancer being first.

It’s not clear what type of breast cancer Wiles had.

Trump had first disclosed Wiles’ diagnosis on Truth Social before she released an update about her health, saying that she would receive treatment.

At the time, the president added that Wiles would be “spending virtually full time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy!”

He added, “Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her. Susie, as one of my closest and most important advisors, is tough and deeply committed to serving the American People. She will soon be better than ever!”
