KLVC scandal: Former Felda senior exec to face fraud charges today

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 — The former senior officer of the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda), who was previously investigated in connection with the misappropriation of the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) project, will be charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today.

Based on a court system check, the man will be charged in Criminal Sessions Court 14 before Judge Suzana Hussin at 9:00 am.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) stated that it has obtained the green light to charge the former senior Felda officer.

On September 25, MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said the individual will face one charge under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

The KLVC investigation is part of seven investigation papers involving Felda and Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FIC), comprising six new investigation papers and one previous investigation.

The investigation focuses on the purchase and investment of assets by Felda and FIC between 2010 and 2020, which are suspected to involve elements of corruption, misappropriation, and abuse of power. — Bernama
