Nikki Sixx: I’ve Played Bass on Every Mötley Crüe Album Despite Rumors

Translate

Nikki Sixx insists that he has played bass on every single Mötley Crüe album the band has released, despite rumors the contrary.

The response from Sixx came in a since deleted X/Twitter post from Sixx after a fan asked, “Lol will you tell the truth about playing bass on theater of pain?”

This was in reference to the rumor started by original Crüe lead guitarist Greg Leon that Sixx didn’t play bass on the band’s third album Theatre of Pain, with Leon claiming to have seen a session bassist at work hired by producer Tom Werman.

Sixx, however, focused his statement on ex-Crüe guitarist Mick Mars, who claimed that the bassist didn’t play live in a lawsuit he filed against his former band.

    Sixx wrote on Twitter:

“I’ve played bass on every album Mötley Crüe has ever recorded and written the lion’s share of our music over the years. When Mick made statements about the band that we believe were untrue, in an attempt to gain leverage in a lawsuit he ultimately lost, it created a lot of confusion and fueled some negative perceptions of the band.

The saddest part is that we genuinely loved Mick. During his struggles with addiction, I personally did everything I could to help him and, at times, save his life. We shared decades of music, memories, and brotherhood. That history means something to us.

What hurts the most isn’t the lawsuit or the headlines. It’s the feeling that someone we considered a brother turned his back on us and, in the process, misled the fans who supported all of us for so many years.”

Mötley Crüe are currently preparing for their upcoming “Carnival of Sins in Sin City” residency in Las Vegas set to begin Match 2027. Get tickets here.
