Aerosmith Returns With Two Concerts at the Hollywood Bowl — Two Years After Announcing Retirement From Touring

Translate

Aerosmith is coming out of retirement for two nights at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl with “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends,” featuring guest appearances from Run-D.M.C., Billy Idol, Eric Church, Slash and many more.

The rock group will perform at the famed venue on October 29 and November 1. The lineup of guests, which will vary each night, includes the Black Crowes, Run-D.M.C., Heart, Andrew Watt, Billy Idol, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan, Eric Church, Jerry Cantrell, Marcus King, Mike Inez, Nuno Bettencourt, Pat Monahan, Sammy Hagar, Slash, Steve Stevens, Sully Erna, Tom Morello, Adam Wakeman, Audley Freed, Kenny Aronoff and more.

Don Was will serve as music director for the shows, and additional guests and surprise appearances will be announced in the coming weeks. The final lineups will be announced at or near showtime.

Citi cardmember presale begins on October 8 at 10 a.m. PT, followed by additional presales that lead to general onsale on October 10 at 10 a.m. PT.

Aerosmith teased the shows earlier this week with a post on social media where lead singer Steven Tyler stood on a ladder next to photographer Ross Halpin, affixing letters to the Hollywood Bowl sign. This marks a return to the stage for the band, who canceled their 2023 “Peace Out: The Farewell Tour” due to Tyler’s fractured larynx.

In August 2024, the group revealed that they had officially retired from touring because Tyler’s “recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.” “It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours,” the band wrote in a social media post at the time.

Tyler, for his part, did continue on to perform in the years that followed, including an appearance at a Grammy Awards watch party in February 2025 and as part of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s farewell concert in July 2025.
