Egypt’s Omar Assar qualifies for WTT Europe Smash Sweden 2026

Egyptian table tennis player Omar Assar qualified for the quarterfinal of the men’s singles at the WTT Europe Smash Sweden 2026 in Malmo, Sweden.

Assar, ranked 35th globally, advanced after defeating Denmark’s world no. 59 player 3-2 in the round of 16 on Friday.

He reached this stage after beating Hungary’s world no. 66 player 3-0 in the round of 32 on Thursday and a Chinese opponent 3-2 in the round of 64 on Monday.

Assar will face Slovenia’s world no. 15 player in the next round on Saturday.
