Smile 3 is moving forward with a new look.
Variety reports that Paramount has tapped David Bruckner to direct Smile 3, with a screenplay written by Nick Antosca. They are helming the sequel instead of Parker Finn, who created the franchise, directed the two prior films, and pitched the story's framework for the third installment. Finn will be a producer this time around as he focuses on directing a remake of Possession.
