Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and his wife, Olivia, will be welcoming their first child, the couple announced Saturday.

The couple took to Instagram to announce the news, jointly posting a 1:17 video to the social media site titled "A Short Love Story" with the line "By The Penix's" appearing below the introductory title.

The video features a number of short shots of Michael and Olivia together, wearing matching white fits, with a few clips revealing ultrasound photos, including one with a roll nestled with a teddy bear in a basket with a blanket reading "Baby Penix, Spring 2027."

"Upgraded to mom and dad" the post's caption reads.

The Penix's got married in May after becoming engaged in 2024. The pair met while Michael played quarterback for the University of Washington, where he helped lead the Huskies to the 2024 College Football Playoff national championship game before losing to Michigan.

Penix made his first start of the 2026 campaign Thursday against the Green Bay Packers, throwing for 256 yards and a touchdown in a 35-14 Falcons win.
