Robert Pattinson Says ‘The Batman Part II’ Is Back Up And Running After Production Pause: “I’m Starting In A Couple Of Days”

Following its brief pause while director Matt Reeves deals with a family issue, The Batman Part II star Robert Pattinson has confirmed that production is back up and running.

“I think they’re in production already,” Pattinson told Games Radar in a new interview. “And I’m starting in a couple of days.”

Steven Soderbergh has stepped in to help get the DC sequel over the line. Pattinson was full of praise for Soderbergh who reached out to Reeves to offer his services when he heard the filmmaker had to step away. We broke news of the pause in production earlier this month.

“I am so happy he’s [Soderbergh] come on to help Matt,” Pattinson said. “It’s incredibly generous of him – and he’s doing it in the loveliest way. It’s completely selfless…I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we’re almost done. So for someone to come in and say, ‘I just want to help Matt do it; I want to do it in conjunction with him and just get it to the edit.’ And to have someone who’s as talented as Steven doing it is great.”

Prior to the pause, filming had been underway in London. The film is set to bow on February 18, 2028.

In a statement at the time, DC said Soderbergh will “complete the final weeks of principal photography on The Batman Part II,” and that “Matt and Steven will work closely together with the actors and crew to fulfill Matt’s vision of the film.”

The cast has Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell returning respectively as Batman, Alfred and Penguin, with new additions Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Jayme Lawson, Charles Dance, Gil Perez-Abraham and Sebastian Koch.
