[UPDATED] Anwar directs Loke, Rapid KL to resolve recurring train congestion

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed Transport Minister Anthony Loke to immediately resolve train congestion issues that disrupt the daily routines of commuters.
The prime minister's directive followed complaints by a Threads user, identified as siti.anisahj, about overcrowding at train station platforms last night.
Anwar, who is also finance minister, also instructed Rapid KL to look into the issue to ensure an immediate solution.
"This happens frequently, and it certainly disrupts the daily routines of the majority of the people.
"We must be more sensitive and take action," the Tambun member of parliament said.
The prime minister's response drew widespread public attention, garnering more than 25,000 likes, nearly 300 comments, and about 1,500 reposts.
Earlier, siti.anisahj posted several photos showing the daily congestion faced by train commuters, especially in the capital.

"Assalamualaikum @anwaribrahim_my. Can we ask for a few more train coaches? It is like this every day. Driving means getting stuck in traffic, while taking the train means facing overcrowding," she said.
On Oct 12, KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit train services were reportedly disrupted following two cable theft cases within hours along the airport rail corridor.
The incident forced commuters to endure longer travel times and altered train schedules.
The theft involved about 180m of signalling cables across two 90m sections between the Putrajaya and Cyberjaya station and the Salak Tinggi station, near the kilometre 44 marker.
On Oct 8, the Mass Rapid Transit Kajang Line at the Bukit Bintang station experienced congestion due to a surge in passenger volume, with the situation lasting for about three hours.
The congestion also affected commuters at other train stations, including the Bangsar LRT station, where many passengers were left stranded.
