Coronation Street's Sarah Platt risks entire future with shock court outburst

Coronation Street spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on ITV1 and stream on ITVX.
It's the week of Sarah Platt's big trial in Coronation Street, as she tries to prove that she killed Theo Silverton in self-defence, but things took a drastic turn for the worse. The episode began with a tense phone call with Bethany, who couldn't provide much comfort for her mum as she was secretly on the way to get her pregnancy terminated.
In court, the prosecution told the jury that was so angry by how Theo treated her friend Todd Grimshaw that she "decided to take the law into her own hands, appointing herself judge, jury, and executioner".

Lisa Connor-Swain then took to the witness stand and admitted that because it took Sarah a long time to confess to her actions, it would be considered "unusual" behaviour for someone who acted in self-defence.
It was then the turn of Theo's ex-wife Danielle, and when asked about reports that Theo and Todd "came to blows", Sarah interrupted to say: "No they never. Theo hit Todd!"
Danielle testified that "Theo Silverton would never hit a woman" and Sarah continued to speak out, stating that she knew that Theo intended to kill her. The judge intervened and Sarah was led away.
Over in the Rovers, David clashed with Lisa for what she said in court, and Kit Green for not being there at all.

An angry Kit, struggling to deal with his cancer diagnosis, told the Platts that he wanted nothing to do with the family anymore.
"Todd, we need you to pull it out of the bag. No pressure but, it's all on you."
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
