PETALING JAYA, Aug 16 — Police have arrested three men after a woman reported being assaulted and threatened during an alleged illegal parking fee collection near the OUG community hall in Jalan Awan Besar.

The 38 year old complainant told officers she was verbally abused before being punched in the head and threatened with further violence, including disruption at her workplace.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said three suspects, aged between 20 and 26, were detained following the incident. Checks revealed all had prior criminal records.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 323 for voluntarily causing hurt.

A remand order was obtained for the first suspect for three days from August 16 to 18, while the other two were remanded for one day each.

Police urged the public to report any information on crime to the Brickfields police hotline at 03 22979222, the Kuala Lumpur hotline at 03 21159999, or the nearest police station.
