The summer transfer window is showing little sign of slowing down even with Deadline Day fast approaching as the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool scramble to get deals over the line. The Gunners have held talks over a shock deal for Victor Osimhen, are pursuing Jarell Quansah and leading the race for Brighton's Jack Hinshelwood.

However, Gabriel Martinelli will be staying put after signalling his intention to reject a move to Galatasaray. Chelsea’s deadline for Enzo Fernandez bids has now passed, without receiving an £120m offer from Manchester City. The Blues are also being linked with Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi, while Manchester United may have been offered a boost in their pursuit of Lewis Hall as they also target Eduardo Camavinga.

Liverpool are understood to have paused negotiations over Bradley Barcola, while preparing a bid for PSG team-mate Ibrahim Mbaye. Tottenham are still pushing for Savinho and Cody Gakpo as Cristian Romero and Djed Spence complete their exits, while West Ham hope to seal a move for Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson as Celtic midfielder Arne Engels undergoes a medical, and Barcelona bid again for Rodri. Arteta contract update

Mikel Arteta has assured Arsenal fans that there is nothing to worry about over his contract extension.

The Spaniard's existing deal will expire at the end of the season and there has not yet been confirmation that a new contract has been finalised.

However, both Arteta and the club are understood to be relaxed about the situation and there are no concerns about going into the new season with the situation as it is.

The indications are that a new contract will be signed and it is likely to make Arteta one of the highest-paid managers in the world.

The Gunners’ boss reiterated his commitment to the club on Friday, indicating that supporters should be confident that it is only a matter of time with his extension.

ICYMI: Martinelli rejects Galatasaray

Gabriel Martinelli has no intention of joining Galatasaray.

Standard Sport reported earlier in the week at amid a £38m bid from Gala for the Arsenal winger, it wasn’t clear if a move to Turkey interested the Brazilian.

Well, now we have our answer.

As per The Athletic, Martinelli’s camp have made it clear that he has no interest in joining Galatasaray.

Romero signs

It’s official, Cristian Romero has completed his move to Atletico Madrid from Tottenham.

The defender has signed a contract at Atletico that will keep him at the club until 2031.

Palace set Munoz price

Football Insider reports that Crystal Palace have set a £25million asking price for Daniel Munoz.

Spurs reach Gakpo agreement

Reports in the Netherlands claim that Tottenham have reached a verbal agreement in principle with Cody Gakpo to bring the Liverpool forward to north London.

Spurs are looking to bolster their frontline this summer, and Gakpo and Manchester City’s Savinho have emerged as their leading targets.

Other reports detail that Liverpool are unwilling to sell Gakpo, so this saga could drag on till the transfer deadline.

Arsenal target Hinshelwood

Ekrem Konur claims that Arsenal are eyeing Brighton midfielder Jack Hinshelwood.

According to a report in The Sun, the 21-year-old has become a top target for the Gunners, who are thought to have made contact with the player’s representatives.

The youngster’s versatility could be of particular interest, with the midfielder also capable of playing at full-back.

ICYMI: Arsenal interested in Quansah

Arsenal are interested in a deal for England defender Jarell Quansah.

Standard Sport understands that while a formal approach has yet to be made to Bayer Leverkusen, the former Liverpool centre-back is one of a number of defensive targets currently under consideration in north London.

Arsenal appreciate Quansah’s versatility and ability to operate either in the centre of defence or at right-back, with manager Mikel Arteta needing a new signing who can do both before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.

Bezos buys Liverpool stake

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group has announced the sale of a minority stake in the Premier League club to a consortium including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

It is understood that around 30 per cent to one-third of the club has been sold to 1892 Holdings, a consortium led and managed by Amit Bhatia, the son-in-law of steel billionaire Lakshmi Mittal.

Liverpool confirmed that investments came from Bhatia and the Mittal Family Trusts, K5 Sports with Bezos as the lead investor, and EE Capital, the family office of Elaine and Eduardo Saverin.

Forest eye Abraham

Football Insider claims that Nottingham Forest could consider a summer move for Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham. Villa are willing to let Abraham leave after he scored three goals in 16 appearances following his January arrival.

Abraham joined Villa from Besiktas for £18.25million, while Forest have been linked with strikers this summer.

Hojbjerg stripped of Marseille captaincy

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been stripped of the Marseille captaincy after rejecting a £15million move to Newcastle, the Daily Mail reports.

Marseille and Newcastle had agreed a transfer, but Hojbjerg changed his mind and decided to remain in France. Owner Frank McCourt is thought to be furious, while AC Milan are also interested if Hojbjerg decides to leave Marseille.
