The Institute of Leadership Coaching and Strategy has appointed Sunday Adenipekun as its new Registrar/Chief Executive
The Institute of Leadership Coaching and Strategy has appointed Sunday Adenipekun as its new registrar and chief executive, as the professional body moves to strengthen its leadership and expand its institutional reach.
Adenipekun, a governance and business membership organisation expert, assumed office on Monday, October 5, according to a statement issued by the institute.
The appointment was approved by the governing council after what the institute described as a rigorous hiring process.
Adenipekun was the immediate past Director of the Academy at the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria, where he also served several times in an acting Director-General and Chief Executive capacity, according to the statement.
The institute said his experience in governance, institutional development and membership-based organisations would support its next phase of growth.
“His proven track record in institutional growth and governance in membership-based organisations strategically positions him to lead the fast-emerging Institute into its next phase of development and impact,” the leadership body wrote.

The appointment comes alongside changes to the institute’s governing structure, including the elevation of its pioneer Registrar and Chief Executive, Ifeoma Adeniyi, to Second Vice President.
Adeniyi’s appointment was approved at a governing council meeting on September 30, the institute said.
Three new chairmen of standing committees have also joined the Governing Council. They are Morounfoluwa Oluwatosin Oyebola, who will chair the Membership Experience Committee; Abdulwarees-Solanke Monsurat Modupe, Finance and General Purpose Committee; and Kolawole Akintunji Oyeyemi, Collaboration and Strategy Committee.
The President and Chairman of Council, Olasunkade Azeez, urged the appointees to contribute their time, resources and expertise to the institute. He said their collective responsibility was to accelerate the organisation’s growth and strengthen its position among professional bodies in Nigeria and beyond.
The institute also commended Adeniyi for her service as its pioneer registrar and chief executive, saying she contributed to its development from inception.
Adenipekun brings 38 years of post-qualification experience to the role, including 24 years in not-for-profit membership organisations and 11 years at a federal government development finance institution, according to the institute.
