Translate

STYLE

If you like your Alpine adventure avec plain de rustic charm, there can be few better place than Megève.

Originally founded by Benedictine monks in the 13th century, the town is steeped in history.

Wander through it's cobbled streets, gaze at the gorgeous wooden chalets with their flowery balconies, and you feel a sense of timelessness.

This once modest village has been an exclusive ski destination for a century, having been chosen by Baroness Noémie de Rothschild to be developed into one of France's first winter sport resorts.

In the heart of Megève lies Lodge Park, a boutique five-star hotel that is only a few minutes' walk from a gondola that gives you access to 325km of scenic, tree-lined slopes.

Hotel Lodge Park reopened its doors in December 2025 following a year-long transformation.

Its 49 rooms have become 28 luxurious suits and a Longevity Spa, hailed is the first of its kind in the region.

Everything you need to know about Lodge Park

Style?

The surrounding streets of Megève could hardly be less French. Stepping into Lodge Park is to be surrounded by a unique blend of styles; a combination of North American ski chalet, traditional hunting lodge and Scottish Highland retreat.

Raw wood and tartan fabrics abound. There are stags’ heads on the wall. Park yourself on a leather club chair in front of the open log fireplace with a glass of your favourite tipple, and be very, very content.

Which room?

There are 29 sumptuous suits and rooms, which blend Ralph Lauren fabrics, Brin Emperador marble bathrooms and rich natural textures.

Dressing rooms are generously proportioned, with private balconies that encourage quiet moments beneath the night sky.

Food & drink

When it comes to cuisine, Lodge Park is something of a carnivorous fever dream.

Its celebrated Beef Lodge is very much “what-it-says-on-tin” restaurant. Showcasing exceptional cuts from the finest farms, including Japanese Wagyu, Black Angus and Simmental, guests can choose from a rare à la carte selection or the butcher’s stall.

Head Chef Christophe Cote draws on wood-fired smoking, cooking each cut over low temperatures for over 70 hours, before finishing in an Argentine oven for deeper flavour and tenderness.

Dishes are paired with vintages from Domaine de Marie and an expertly curated wine list.

After an afternoon on the slopes, enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail at the hotel’s Lodge Bar is the perfect way to reflect on the day’s skiing and gear up for dinner.

The fantastic menu includes the hotel’s signature Moscow Mule, Haute Altitude (blending Mont Blanc gin, apple juice, fresh mint, and basil) and the extremely indulgent Chartreuse chocolate, served in decorative Tiki glasses.

Dinner at one of the hotel’s sister retreat in Megève, Les Fermes de Marie, is also highly recommended.

The restaurant, located in the heart of the five-star hotel’s main chalet, features an array of mouth-watering dishes, such as Grenoblaise-style turbot with watercress mashed potatoes and Charolais beef fillet.

After a morning of fun on the snow, there are a few amazing mountainside restaurants where you can enjoy a long lunch with magnificent views of the surrounding peaks.

I ate at the Relais des Fermes, at 1,300 metres above sea level, which offers typical Alpine dishes such as mountain bread crust, Aravis pela, veal cooked in coffee with mushrooms and fondue.
