Ruth Odinga Shows Off Boxing Skills, Urges Women to Prepare for 2027 Elections
Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga has shared a glimpse of her boxing workout, urging women to prepare for the upcoming General Election in a message that has added a political twist to her gym session.
In a 14-second video shared on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Ruth is seen in sportswear throwing a series of punches at a heavy bag inside a gym.
The politician appears focused as she moves around the bag, adjusts her position and delivers repeated strikes that send it swinging back and forth.
However, it was her caption accompanying the clip that caught attention, with Ruth linking the workout to the approaching election season.
“Ladies, elections are round the corner… let’s prepare!!!!” she wrote.

The short clip offers a glimpse of Ruth outside her usual political engagements, showing her concentrating on her fitness and practising her boxing skills.
Dressed in gym attire, she maintains her focus as she works the punching bag, moving with it as it swings following each strike.
Although she did not explain whether the session was part of a regular fitness routine or preparation for a specific event, her caption gave the video a political undertone.
Message to Women Ahead of 2027 Polls
By urging women to prepare for the elections, Ruth appeared to encourage them to get ready for the political season, although she did not specify whether she was referring to campaigning, voter participation or another form of preparation.
Kenya is scheduled to hold its next General Election in August 2027, when voters will elect the president, members of Parliament, governors and other representatives.
Ruth has been part of Kisumu’s political leadership for years, having served as deputy governor between 2013 and 2017 before becoming the county’s Woman Representative.
She is also the younger sister of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and has maintained a presence in the country’s political scene.
