Jewar airport to be named Narendra Modi International Airport Noida, announces Yogi Adityanath

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday announced that the Noida International Airport at Jewar will be named Narendra Modi International Airport Noida, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The announcement comes months after the airport was inaugurated in March 2026. It serves as the National Capital Region’s second international airport.Adityanath also said the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet had passed a resolution marking PM Modi’s 25 years of continuous service as the head of a government, a period that began when he became Gujarat chief minister in 2001.“The Council of Ministers of Uttar Pradesh has passed a significant resolution today, honoring the Prime Minister’s uninterrupted 25-year journey of public service as the Head of Government...

The Cabinet has resolved that October 7th marks a glorious chapter in the nation's history. The Council of Ministers of UP extends its heartfelt congratulations to PM Modi, on the completion of 25 years of continuous, dedicated service as the Head of Government,” Adityanath said.He said Uttar Pradesh took pride in PM Modi leading the country while representing the state as a Member of Parliament. Adityanath added that the state had entered a new phase of development under his leadership, with heritage and infrastructure development progressing together.

Yogi Adityanath also credited PM Modi’s administrative experience and vision for changes in the state’s governance since 2017.“It is a well-known fact that prior to 2017, the state grappled with administrative inefficiency, a pervasive sense of insecurity among the public, and a lack of basic amenities. Drawing inspiration from the Prime Minister's vast administrative experience and visionary outlook, UP adopted a new work culture of governance,” he said.

Adityanath added that transparent governance, improved law and order, modern infrastructure and an investment-friendly environment had become hallmarks of the state. He said the state Cabinet would remain grateful to PM Modi for consistently prioritising Uttar Pradesh’s development.
