Christopher Nolan’s epic was released in theatres almost 2 months ago. The film is still running strong and registering new records. Now, the epic has become the highest-grossing film in Universal Pictures’ history. The Odyssey has already crossed the billion-dollar mark worldwide and is now the 114-year-old company’s biggest film at the worldwide box office.

On Saturday, Universal announced that Christopher Nolan’s hit film had become their highest-grossing film of all time. The film has also crossed the $600 million mark at the domestic box office. The film stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson in pivotal roles.

Beats Jurassic World

On Saturday, The Odyssey also crossed the lifetime global collection of Jurassic World. It was the highest-grossing film for Universal Pictures so far. The film had earned $1.67 billion during its theatrical run.

Currently, Matt Damon-led epic’s domestic total stands at $601.2 million, while its global total is at $1.68 billion. It is the 12th-highest-grossing movie of all time and the 3rd-highest-grossing non-franchise film behind Avatar and Titanic.

Currently, The Odyssey is just $120 million short of surpassing Zootopia and entering the top 10 highest-grossing films worldwide. Since The Odyssey is still on track to earn $1.7 billion to $1.9 billion worldwide in its original run, it still has a shot at beating Zootopia 2 and breaking into the all-time global top 10.
