India’s heart warming gesture for Afghanistan — Shreyas Iyer gifts signed jersey to Ibrahim Zadran at toss

India captain Shreyas Iyer on Sunday gifted a signed jersey to Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran before the coin toss during the first T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The two leaders also unveiled a special memento before the coin flip, marking the inauguration of the ‘Friendship Cup’ between the two teams.

Despite all three games being played in New Delhi, Afghanistan is the official host of this T20I series. The Asian side, not allowed to host games in its own country due to security risks, usually plays its home games in UAE.

For a brief period, Afghanistan hosted games at the Greater Noida Stadium in Uttar Pradesh before moving base.
