HBO‘s Harry Potter TV series has cast Rafe Spall as Arthur Weasley, Molly Hewitt-Richards as Moaning Myrtle, and Jasper Ambrose as Colin Creevey.

The trio of actors will join the cast for Season 2, with filming currently underway at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK.

Spall will take up the recurring role played by Mark Williams in the Harry Potter films. A pure-blood wizard in the employ of the Ministry of Magic, Weasley is a father of seven children, including Harry Potter’s best friend Ron.

Spall’s credits include Sky’s hit series Under Salt Marsh and Apple TV comedy Trying. Repped by B-Side and UTA, he follows in the footsteps of his father, Timothy Spall, in joining J.K. Rowling’s wizarding universe. Timothy played Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail).

Hewitt-Richards, who has appeared in BritBox series Code of Silence and BBC drama Casualty, will play the ghost who haunts the second-floor girls’ bathroom at Hogwarts. Shirley Henderson portrayed Myrtle in the movies. Hewitt-Richards is repped by Curtis Brown Group.

Finally, Ambrose (The Sheep Detectives) will play Creevey after Deadline reported that HBO was casting for the role. Creevey first appears in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and is frequently seen around the grounds of Hogwarts with a camera, fanboying over Potter himself.

Hugh Mitchell played Muggle-born Gryffindor wizard Creevey in the 2002 film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, but the character did not return for the rest of the movie series. Ambrose is represented by Sylvia Young Agency.

They join other new additions for Season 2: Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart, Bonnie Hill as Ginny Weasley, Lenny Rush as Dobby, and Billy Barratt as Tom Riddle.

Recurring cast members include Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

The Harry Potter series is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive produced by Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
