One dead, two injured after three cyclists hit in Canberra's north
A person has died and two others have been seriously injured after a crash in Canberra's north this morning.
ACT Policing said a car hit three cyclists on Gungahlin Drive in Palmerston about 6:30am.
The crash occurred just south of the Kosciuszko Avenue intersection.
The Emergency Services Agency (ESA) issued an alert to say Gungahlin Drive was closed in both directions from Well Station Drive to The Valley Avenue.
It said the road would be closed "for some time".
Personnel from ACT Fire & Rescue, the ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Policing were all at the scene.
ACT police later confirmed one person had died, one person was in a critical condition and another was in a serious condition.
The community has been asked to avoid the area and use an alternative route.
The death is the 10th fatality on ACT roads this year.
