BYD draws 800 owners for football legends event

MORE than 800 BYD owners, staff, partners and management gathered in Kuala Lumpur for a two-day event featuring a line-up of former football stars.

Organised by BYD Sime Motors, the AllStar Legends experience brought together former Premier League and international players including Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Ryan Giggs, Alessandro Del Piero, Dida and Javier Saviola.

The event, held on Oct 2 and 3, included meet-and-greet sessions, a Legends Talk, gala dinner and an AllStar Legends football match at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.

The football legends also toured Kuala Lumpur and made appearances at BYD Glenmarie and BYD TREC Kuala Lumpur, travelling in BYD vehicles.

For participating families, one of the highlights was the selection of children from BYD-owning families as player mascots.

The children walked onto the pitch alongside the football legends before the match.

BYD Malaysia managing director Jacob Ma said the event reflected the company's "Build Your Dreams" philosophy, which he said was about encouraging people to pursue their ambitions.

"The legends we welcomed to Malaysia changed the game through talent, dedication and an unwavering pursuit of excellence," he said.

Sime Motors Southeast Asia managing director Jeffrey Gan said the event was intended to strengthen ties between BYD and its growing owner community.

"Ownership extends far beyond the vehicle itself. As our community continues to grow, we remain committed to creating memorable experiences that strengthen our connection with our owners," he said.

The event also provided an opportunity for BYD owners to meet fellow drivers and take part in activities beyond their usual ownership experience.

BYD Seal owner Sam Khoo said meeting the football legends and attending the gala dinner and match was a memorable experience.

For parents of the selected Kid Mascots, the occasion offered a chance for their children to be involved in the event alongside international football stars.

Fatin, a BYD Sealion 7 owner, said seeing her child walk onto the pitch with the football legends was a proud moment for the family.
