World Cup-winner Jemimah Rodrigues was not named in India’s playing XI for the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final against Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
India and Sri Lanka are meeting each other in the summit clash for the second edition in a row and top-order batter Jemimah will not be part of it. She was part of that 2024 final in Dambulla, scoring a 16-ball 29, as the Women in Blue lost to the Lankans.
Jemimah has not been part of any India matches at the Asia Cup after an injury sustained during the Women’s Hundred earlier this year had ruled the 26-year-old out of the tournament. She was also ruled out of the upcoming Asian Games in Japan.
Opener Pratika Rawal was named as Jemimah’s replacement for the Asia Cup and the Delhi batter has featured in all of India’s matches so far. Her best knock so far, 22 runs off 18 balls, came against Thailand which was her T20I debut.
