Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) said all exchange members are ready to implement a change to the minimum stock price from Rp50 rupiah to Rp1 per share starting Monday, Sept. 28.

“All exchange members are ready to implement the removal of the Rp50 minimum price in trading on Monday, Sept. 28. It will take effect on Sept. 28,” IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik told reporters at the IDX building in Jakarta on Friday.

Hendrik said he hoped the policy would boost liquidity and improve price discovery, particularly for stocks that have remained at the Rp50 level for a long time and have had no liquidity.

“We hope this will increase liquidity and provide better price discovery for stocks that have been at Rp50 for a long time and have had no liquidity,” he said.

The IDX will continue to evaluate the implementation of the policy and communicate the results of its evaluation to exchange members and market participants, Hendrik said. The change to the minimum stock price, from Rp50 to Rp1 per share, will take effect on Monday, Sept. 28.

The change will be accompanied by adjustments to the auto-rejection limits for equity securities and Infrastructure Investment Funds (DINFRA) traded on the regular and cash markets.
