Updated: Gov Adeleke casts vote in Ede

Translate

Osun State Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has arrived at his polling unit in Ede North Local Government Area to cast his vote in the ongoing governorship election.

Adeleke arrived at Polling Unit 009, Ward 02, Abogunde Compound, Ede North, at about 8:10 a.m.

There was an early turnout of voters across parts of Ede, the governor’s hometown, as well as in Ilesha and Osogbo, with residents arriving at polling units to participate in the election.

In Ede, some voters were at their polling units as early as 6:40 a.m., while vehicles were seen conveying voters and National Youth Service Corps members to different locations from about 6:30 a.m.

Security personnel were deployed across Ede North and Ede South local government areas, with checkpoints mounted in line with the restriction on vehicular movement during the election.

Personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were also seen at several polling units before the arrival of electoral officials and election materials.

Local election observers were present at some polling units, monitoring preparations ahead of the commencement of voting.

While accreditation had commenced at some locations, officials were yet to paste the register of eligible voters at some other polling units visited.

The early voter turnout was also reported in other parts of the state, including Ilesha and Osogbo, as voters exercised their civic rights in the election.
