FM: Palestinian cause remains top foreign policy priority

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Expatriates Badr Abdelatty Thursday, September 24, 2026, said that Egypt’s foreign policy attaches great importance to the Palestinian cause, stressing that reaching a just and comprehensive settlement is key to achieving peace, security and stability in the region.

Abdelatty made the remarks during an interview in New York with Journalist Tim Constantine of The Washington Times, which covered Egypt’s efforts to reinforce economic development and strengthen international cooperation and partnerships, as well as regional and international developments.

During the interview, Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s efforts to de-escalate tensions and contain crises in the region, alongside promoting political solutions through intensified coordination and consultations with parties and partners.

The interview addressed developments in Iran. Abdelatty affirmed Egypt’s support for dialogue and the diplomatic track as the best means of resolving differences, stressing the importance of restoring trust among the parties concerned and reaching durable understandings that would contribute to containing tensions and preventing the conflict from spreading, thereby strengthening regional security and stability.
